What is a Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is a healthcare profession that focuses on optimising the function and performance of the musculoskeletal system.
Where symptoms or dysfunction exist, treatment aims to normalise sensation and function.
Additionally, where no symptoms exist, management aims to optimise function, movement and performance.
What do I need to bring?
Be prepared to provide your previous medical & surgical history.
If you have them and if they are relevant please bring any scan/MRI reports and a list of any medications.
You should also bring shorts and a t-shirt to allow you to move around comfortably for any assessment that is required.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual.
After your initial consultation, the therapist will discuss your treatment plan with you and let you know if further visits will be required.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Throughout the treatment it is likely we will need access to the areas of concern if hands-on therapy options or dry needling will be performed as a part of your treatment.
A t-shirt/singlet, shorts & underwear is suitable for the consultation. Additional draping with towels will also be used during your treatment when needed.
